KVH TracVision systems provide full support for DIRECTV’s Ku-band standard and high-definition broadcasts. However, DIRECTV is in the process of moving its HDTV programming to new Ka-band satellites. Reception of Ka-band broadcasts requires larger antennas and additional equipment. As a result, KVH TracVision systems and all other domed mobile satellite TV antennas cannot support reception of DIRECTV’s new Ka-band HDTV broadcasts. The following is a list of HDTV channels currently available for DIRECTV's Ku-band satellites. In instances where there is an East and West feed, subscribers will receive only one of these feeds based on your subscription and location. Note: The channel lineup is subject to change. Please check with DIRECTV for most up-to-date information.

ABC High-Definition
ABC HDTV programming may be available in select markets to some DIRECTV customers who have HD equipment and a TOTAL CHOICE® programming package or the DIRECTV HD Package. The ABC HDTV programming currently available for eligible customers is from either WABC (New York) or KABC (Los Angeles), depending upon your geographic location. The select markets where eligible customers may receive the feeds are: New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, San Francisco, CA, Houston, TX, Raleigh, NC, Fresno, CA, Flint, MI, Toledo, OH. If you cannot see a picture on channel 86 or 87, and you live in one of these markets, you may need to obtain a waiver from one or more non-local ABC affiliates. This can take up to 45 days to process.
FOX High-Definition
FOX HDTV programming may be available in select markets to some DIRECTV customers who have HD equipment and a TOTAL CHOICE® programming package or the DIRECTV HD Package. The FOX HDTV programming currently available for eligible customers is from either WNYW (New York) or KTTV (Los Angeles), depending upon your geographic location.
